It depends. Firstly, turn off your CAPS LOCK, it appears to have stuck down.

Right, are the lights 12 volts or 230 volts (you need to find out)?

How are they supplied? (plug and socket? fused spur? seperate circuit? house lighting circuit?)

What cable is used to feed them?

You should be ok to just carry on from the last light, to the next light and so on.

This would be no worse than what you already have.

If the twin and earth is buried in the earth, its not technically to regulations, as its not protected. Any vigourous digging would slice the cable and is not guarranteed to cut off the power as the cable has no earthed metallic outer sheath.

But if its just under the patio, at least its visible when you lift the slabs.

Caps off, DOH.
230V
House circuit
1.5 twin earth
Ta.

Is there an RCD to cut power if insulation is damaged and bits of wet decking become live and lethal to touch ?
