Additional Lighting

I am trying to connect additional halogens (12v) to a spare gang on my 3 gang light switch.
Can I utilse power in off the existing two gangs to give power to the Halogens.

Alternatively,Tracing power back to a ceiling rose means ripping out a large section of ceiling.

Difficulty I see is that usually only Live goes to switch. If however you have Neutral as well no problem. You would need to ensure heat from halogens could not be a fire hazard.
Cannot you gain access to lighting wiring from floorboards above?
