Does anyone know if I can use pva in a sand and cement mix alongside other additives such as waterproofer or rapid hardener?
Thanks for your time fellas
Whatever your using it for, use an SBR additive if it’s waterproofing you want; conventional PVA isn’t water proof, remains water soluble & will re-emulsify if it gets damp.
As I said in my previous post, conventional PVA will always remain water soluble so why risk it? Use a waterproof SBR bonding agent, there are plenty of them about; waterproof & bond in one go so you'll kill 2 birds with one stone
Unibond now actually supply what they call "waterproof PVA" but I’ve yet to find out exactly what’s in it. It may be an SBR based formula but then I can’t see the point in calling it a waterproof PVA
