ADE GEN 4 Honeywell

I have the above alarm system, I would like to turn down the voulme on the exit tone, I no it's simply enough to do once the panel is open the issue I have is I do not have the engineer code to stop the alarm going off, is there a way to open the front panel to adjust volume without engineer code and the alarm going off.

Ok once I remove the panel and the alarm goes off, if I put my code in will the alarm stop or will it continue to go off until I place the panel back on?
