Hi All,

I will be tiling the bathroom and will need to install some Hardybackers in the shower area and some green boards (aquaboards) in non-water affected areas. I will use the masonry screws to fix everything to the wall, do I need to use some adhesive as well, just in case? If I do need to use it, what type of adhesive should I use?

Thanks,

Take it's a solid wall your fixing to an not a stud....

Drywall adhesive then plug an screw thro the dabs when set...
Dot an dab every 300mm across and 250mm down...

Make sure the wall is dust free first...

Thanks very much.

Yes it is a solid brick wall with no plaster on it.
Any specific type or brand of adhesive I should use?

Thanks,

Can I use Pinkgrip DryFix tiling with some masonry screws to fix the boards, is it going to be enough to hold the tiles (~20Kg per sq m)

You should probably be using tile adhesive (cement based) for the dot and dab and then mechanically fixing through the adhesive dabs.
