Advanced DIY Books

Can anyone recommend any books for advanced DIY'ers who undertake larger jobs such as re-roofing, building their own extension or loft conversions. Something which has details of each stage of the job and good 'builder' tips?

Is this more of a 'theory' of general construction techniques as opposed to actually teaching you how to install a roof dormer (for example) and where to place various joists and steels, etc?

It shows how things are commonly constructed.

I doubt very much that there is a book actually showing you how to build
