Advice on architect and planning process please

If a basic loft conversion, another option is to contact some builders and ask them for their ideas and estimate, and ask of they can recommend an architectural technician to work with. I did this, and when there was an issue with building regs (I asked the building to manage this process too) it was down to the builder to work with the architectural technician to get new calcs done.

There are some loft conversion companies that do the whole design, submit and build and sign-off process - they might cost a little more, but worth considering.
