Ive removed a breafast bar/ side unit from one of the kitchen walls and its left behind this

There looks to be a couple of layers of lining paper and a few layers of paint that were added while the unit was fitted.

What would be the best way to make this look good for decorating?

Since its a relativley small area do you reckon in could get away with easy fill?

Or easifill follwed by lining paper on the whole wall then paint?

Dont really want to have to skim the whole wall if i can avoid it!

If it's only lining paper, Graceful is right; strip the wall and re-paper it. If you try and patch it with lining paper and filler, the original line will always show through. But if you want to try it that way, then put in a couple of layers slightly smaller than the hole, and then fill the gap with fine filler.

was not going for that approach... was going to easi fill the whole lot.

reckon ill just strip an re paper the wall then as that should give the best finish.
