Need some advice on my heating control unit, at the moment i have an old horstmann economy 7 quartz mechanical control unit and as i know longer use economy 7 and the timer is broke on it, i'd like to replace it.
I always like to try these things myself before i pay someone and i'm quite adept at wiring and such.
Can anyone recommend a unit to replace my old one thats fairly easy to install, i've no central heating so its just to control the heating of my hot water tank and a timer would be good.
I was looking at the horstmann 425 Diadem not sure if that will do?

The 425 Diadem is a ch programmer and as such is not suitable for switching immersion heaters, which what I think you are referring to.
You would need a programmer capable of switching higher capacities.
I'm not a sparks but there are some good guys on here that I'm sure will advise.
