Hello there, we have a registered smallholding in a very rural place in Herefordshire. The garden is 1 acre with a swimming pool and 2 small garden sheds on it at the mo, also the fields are 2.5 acres. I would like to build a barn-workshop to restore my tractors and land rovers in. At the monment I am after something of about 30ft x 15 ft, which would be more than 20 meters from the small country lane by us and 20 meters from the house(this would be in the garden). It would be made from a concrete floor with blocks half way up then yorkshire boarding above to the roof which would be sheet steel and no higher than 4 meters. What is allowd planning and building regs wise for our situation. It is all very confusing looking online as they don't really say about barns or workshops. If building it in the field would it need planning or building regs? Any advice would be very helpful.
