Hi,

I live in house that was built in the 1920's, I recently plucked up enough courage to strip the wood chip wall paper in one of the rooms. The walls are not quite as bad as I thought they might be, however, on one wall the plaster was rotten and had come away from the wall completely, the wall itself is covered in what looks like grey ash. Ideally I do not want to pay for the wall to be re-plastered, I bought a sheet of plaster board from B&Q but its actually thicker than the plaster board on the wall, is it possible to buy different types of plasterboard i.e thickness...

Have anyone got any advice they could give me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks :)

Dave

plasterboard is generally sold to the public in two thicknesses. one being 12.5mm the other 9.5mm.

there are thicker plasterboards out there but mainly for a specialist market.
