I'm looking at doing a side kitchen extension. I have a fairly large 9" solid wall outbuilding 2m away from my kitchen which I hope to "simply" link up to the existing kitchen. To utilise this would save a great deal of effort and cost.

Woody mentioned if the outbuildings were suitable for conversion, I could line the walls with polythene and 60-80mm of celotex type insulation.

Can anyone shed some more light exactly how to do this? Securing the polythene, batoning if needed, gaps etc required.

Cheers

Cheers for that. Externally insulating is not an option. The buildings are up against the neighbours house.

Just wondering, how waterproof is the VCL? Is it just for condensation or to stop transfer of damp? One side wall is mildly damp - it was painted inside years ago and that is flaking off due to moisture.
