I'm in the middle of a new bedroom extension and need some advice on extractor fans for an en-suite.
The room is against the back wall and I'm going to fit a zone 1 extractor fan with light.
I would say the distance from the fan to the eaves is about 1 metre, in a straight line but with bends to go over the rafters.
Which would be better for this installation, a centrifugal or axial? I read that axial is good for direct to wall and centrifugal for longer distances but nothing specific.
As an example, one of the centrifugal ones I was looking at was a vectaire lux (http://vectaire.co.uk/products/luxvent-plus)
The axial one is the xpelair britex (http://www.applied-energy.com/en/xpelair/products/range/1617)
Regarding the above two, both these are about £120. I can get other ones (e.g. manrose, x-star) for a fraction of the cost. Do you get what you pay for with regard reliability, etc or are you paying for the name?
