Are cheap Extractor fans rubbish?

Hi I'm looking at fitting an extractor fan into the kitchen with a humidistat.
There seems to be a huge range of prices, the two extremes are -

Is it really a false economy to buy one at a fraction of the price of the branded fans?

Manufacturers RRP's are ficticious, for most M and E equipment
discounts of 30% - 60% are readily available, have a look at the link below.

And £180 for a 4" fan is ridiculous. I would expect to pay £30ish.

Ditto, the £30 fans I have had in the past have been perfectly fine.

I have just fitted an Xpelair unit in my shower room, the unit is quality and is very quite.
cost approx £50.

Mine is switched via the light, the exit delay is set to 5 mins so that the fan continues to extract air after I have left the shower room.
