Advice required on DIY mains IEC leads for home cinema kit

Thanks for the positive comments Zambezi,

Looks like i am gonna give it a whirl (despite the sceptcism) as i will have the cable soon. If it looks impossible (which im 99% sure that it is possible to do), then i will just use smaller cable as stated.

If and when i get it done, i will report back!
