I had a pressure gauge fail on a Worcester Bosch 30i gas boiler. The boiler is 7 years old and out of warranty so I didn’t have an issue paying for a replacement part and the fitting. I had the boiler serviced at the same time. All was well for a week then the replacement, WB OEM, gauge has failed in the same way. I have contacted WB customer services asking for them to supply a second replacement gauge and pay for the labour to fit it. WB have said I can get a replacement gauge from the retailer - that's fine, standard practise - but they haven't responded to my query as to who is going to pay for the extra plumber's time. I don't want to let WB wriggle out of manufacturing a defective part and I certainly don't want to pay for the fitting of another gauge that may itself be faulty. Any advice on how to handle this so I get a working pressure gauge without paying twice for its fitting?

Much appreciated.

Did you buy the part or the RGI that fitted it?
If it was the latter then surely he/she would cover the replacement cost?

If the installer source the part, the installer is responsible for replacing it as his/her cost. If you sourced the part, then all you can expect, is the replacement part, and you pay the cost of fitting.
