I am looking for a relatively cheap product that I can use to paint the shed. Want a black paint that will provide waterproofing and uv protection. Can anyone recommend a product? Thanks
Phone around to the paint companies in your area. I know over here there are companies that make Barn Paints, so there should be where you live as well. But, you're not likely to find a Barn Paint in black cuz few people would want to paint a building black.
Just Google "blackboard paint" or "chaulkboard paint" and you should find this kind of paint in different colors in small quantities.
(The only thing that concerns me is that my understanding is that if the chaulk on the board gets wet and dissolves, it'll be wicked into the porous paint. If it the then recrystalizes inside the porous surface as it dries, you won't be able to get the chaulk marks off the board. (except perhaps by washing the board down with vinegar, maybe)
I'm wondering if a better solution might be to paint the shed GLOSS WHITE and use a black non-permanent felt marker to mark scores. That way, you can wash the felt marker off with water.
Phone International Paint in the UK and see if they have either an exterior chaulk board paint or if they know of a soft white material that won't dissolve in water that can be used on a chaulk board outdoors.
It is a cricket score board which has pulley things for the score. The paint is just to renew the look of the hut as it is looking very faded etc. Thanks
