Hi all,

I need to replace my Aerial distribution box in the loft. I bought the new one and went to fit it and realised the old one was wired into the lighting circuit and the new one has a plug.

Does this mean the new one uses more power? Is it possible for this to work or will I need to buy a different box?

Happy Easter

Steve

If it's a 13A plug, cut the plug off (dispose of it safely) and wire into your existing supply (with a 3A FCU if the manufacturer's instructions require).

If it's a wall-wart power supply then you'll need to get another amp. Not supposed to have 13A sockets on lighting circuits.
