This is something i have wanted for a long time, apparently it was our politicians keeping it out!
There are two sides to this argument, if you are on £100k per annum you may be worse off, but truck drivers, nurses etc should see an improvment, i say about time.

Only downside to it at the moment is that employers will now only have agency workers for an 11 week period before telling them don't come back. Agencies will be quick to cotton on that agency workers will only last 11 weeks in any one workplace and so will put up costs to employers saying there's now a shortage of them.
At the end of the day someone is going to make a lot of money out of this directive, and you can be sure it certainly won't be the agency workers.

Fits right in with the employers who only want then for seasonal work.

Ahh but, say they want 30 agency staff for 20 weeks. They'll now ask for 30 agency staff for only 10 weeks then go to another agency for 30 more for 10 weeks. Personally I can see it stifling business (mind you it will create more paperwork for some people)

It's been in place since last October so I suspect it's been worked around already.

I don't know what happened then but all I saw was a blank post.

It must be the ignore thingy. 'cos I can still see, although some might swear that I'm blind.

Nope. if they do that they'll be fined, the worst culprits are Asda & Tesco, we are not talking 5 to 10 drivers a day here.

I phoned the agency yesterday to inquire about the 12 week working period, i was assured its no problem, i just had to come in and sign a Danish or Swedish protocol thingamejigger so i was actualy working for the agency and not for the company useing the agency, i could carry on earning peanuts and being a 2nd rate employee.

Thinking about it, the guy that phones me with work drives a big new BMW, so similar to the sub contractors as they were called in Germany in the 70s

Do you remember this topic?? I refused to work for a bag of pea nuts p.h. so have now done a deal with the agency, i'm now getting a bag & a half of pea nuts p.h.

I just wish other agency truckers would stand up for themselves.
