I have a small 240v compressor fitted with with a small Air tank, ( I would hazard a guess its capacity would be about 15Ltrs) its ok for blowing up tyres and and that's about all.
I have been given a selection of Pneumatic tools, Drill, grinder, windy gun etc etc, would it be possible to fit an additional Air Tank (Receiver) ? And would it be possible to adapt and use a large empty Calor gas bottle for this purpose ? I assume the Air pressure from from a small compressor would not be excessive ?
All informed replies and comments appreciated.

What you propose will work - in theory anyway - but your small compressor will be working over time to fill a larger receiver.
Air tools also use one hell of a CFM under use, so the receiver will quickly empty and you're back to square one.
I've used a gas bottle before (not sure about any legalities though) and they are man enough to stand the pressure required.....the brass connector required as called a 'propane pig tail'.
I used to fill the gas bottle with air, close the valve, then fix air tools to it, opening the valve and away you go -- great for mobile use which I don't do anymore.
Only personally speaking but I now use a battery windy gun (Hitachi) for undoing nuts etc so the pneumatic gear isn't used for that anymore, just for blow cleaning, tyres and a die grinder.

Possible, but rather pointless. All that a larger air tank would do, is extend the time you could run such items for - you would then have an even longer wait, whilst the used pressure, was restored back up. The compressors output, needs to be at least the same as the tools consumption, to avoid the long pauses whilst the receiver recharges.
