Air con Mazda6

Hi all,

Any ideas what would cause the air con in my car to cycle on and off?

When first engaged it will run for approx 15-20secs and then stop, after 50-60sec it will come on again but only for 3-5 secs this time, the whole process will keep cycling as above,i.e. on for 3-5, off for 50-60 secs

Short ago it was running low on gas as the cooling efficiency was decreasing and the compressor eventually shut down due to the low pressure switch kicking in. A corroded high pressure pipe was found and replaced, along with a receiver drier.

This time I have different symptoms, so not convinced it is lack of gas this time.

Any ideas?

Possible damage to the compressor from running on low gas.

still sounds like low gas pressure did u replace both pipes from the condenser usually if 1 has gone the other 1 is corroded too

No, just the one pipe was replaced, must get it booked back in and get the pressures checked.
