Hi All,

I have a problem in my 8 year old house.

One of the radiators is totally cold and I've tried bleeding it several times (with the whole system turned off). I get cold water flowing through it accompanied by the hissing of air. I must have emptied a few litres of water out but still no joy. I've replenished the water in the system by using the balancing tap in the airing cupboard.

I've also got a few radiators that are partially warm (cold at bottom) and also have air with water when I bleed them.

I am not a DIY expert and have tried several things but to no avail

Any ideas?

Thanks
Gilbo

I would clean the system, radiators cold at the bottom is a sign of sludge. The reaction of the metals and the oxygen in the water can also produce a gas inside the radiators/system, could be the air you are forever bleeding.

Is it properly balanced? (plenty of posts on the forum about this)

Thanks to you both for your comments and apologies for taking so long to reply.

I'll try John's suggestion and post feedback on here

Thanks again
Gilbo
