Air ventilation/trickle vent

Hi All,

I'm looking to install these in the two rooms, upstairs bedroom and another room downstairs. I looked in the 2006 building regs book and it says they should be installed above 1.7M high.



Questions

1) Are the current regs the same, and do the new regs stipulate two should be installed one lower level and another higher level?

2) what size rectangle hole should be made for a 9x6" hit and miss vent cover, and should a insert/ducting be inserted or should I just render the inside smooth?

First time doing this, so any help on this would be good.

If you are just looking to improve ventilation I would suggest you consider something like trickle vents installed in the window frames first.

If you are using the regulations as a guide to current standards look at the current regulations - approved documents.
