I have recently started the plumbing for a power shower in my own 2 story house. For the hot water inlet to the power shower pump what I have done is drained the hot water cylinder in the hot press and just teed off the three quater inch copper hot water pipe that was for the downstairs hot water taps. (I fitted a lever valve before the pump so that I could isolate the feed). Is this method ok or should I consider something else and if so why?
But since I have done this every two/three weeks my upstairs hot water taps are getting airlocked. The taps are spitting out water when you turn on the tap and eventually no water will run from them. This will last for a day or two and the problem 'fixes' itself until it all happens again every two/three weeks! Has anyone got a solution for me, any advice would be much appreciated.
