allfine mini notebook

Please don't laugh, I have just got a Allfine mini notebook. To be fair it has been ok apart from being slow, but one problem. It will not accept my sd photo card either directly in slot or in a card reader through the usb port. Any help would be appreciated.

what size is the SD card? and is it just a standard SD card or an SDHC (visually identical, but the HD bit makes a difference)

do you know what format it if formatted in (FAT, FAT32 or NTFS)

Obviously you need to know more, it seems that I can only tell you the set up as it is.

I have a XD card, 1gb, which I use in my camera. I use a card reader to input to my Packard Bell laptop.

There is a Micro SD card from my mobile phone, which also uses the card reader to input to the laptop.

There is also an SD adaptor which takes the micro SD, which also works with the card reader to input to the laptop.

All the above use the USB connection from the card reader.

The Allfine will not recognise either the SD adaptor through the slot or the card reader using the USB connection.

The Allfine has an SD slot and a USB slot.
