I have a Alpha entec 28x with an E37 fault code, but is intermittent, would this mean that it could be something other than a transformer PCB replacement ? Also can an electrician or other competent person replace this ? Or would it need a gas safe person ?

thanks

No its new Pcb time, needs a gas safe engineers as combustion settings need to be checked /adjusted when new Pcb is installed

Accept a new PCB, but is the checking of combustion settings overkill ? Or would a new PCB really affect the firing ? Starting to sound very expensive

yes absolutely necessary, just go for an Alpha fixed price repair, not much more expensive than buying the PCB, they will supply and fit the PCB and set up all the parameters and set the combustion for 1 price

Thanks for the suggestion, Alpha can do for £296 spread over 12 months includes a service a 12 month boiler contract.....sounds very good, as the part is £225 retail, don’t suppose Alpha pay that will most likely go with that option
