Any help please.

We have one of the above boilers, not missed a beat for the last 7 years, and now seems to be problem after problem. It is always with the hot water, heating works fine. We have had many parts replaced, diafram, flow switch, 2no stats and a replacement A/P tube?? Am not a plumber so don't understand what all these parts do. Luckily We have a service contract with British Gas so the works don't cost anything, just getting fed up with the cold showers.

Anybody any ideas???

Yes I have the idea that you have been subject to people coming to fix the boiler who don't know how to prove the parts correctly neither do they understand the boiler properly.

I would have fixed it first visit.

That doesn't mean I can tell you what is wrong with it today.

One of the problems with parts changing is that you can actually introduce a new fault. Repeated parts changing increases that risk.

The only way to properly fix a boiler is first to have a full understanding of it, two to be capable of testing it extremely and repetetively long beyond the normal person's tenacity, to properly pin down the actual fault and causative part or condition.

If you are then proved wrong the first thing you should do is remove the part you changed wrongly so that the boiler is back to how it was when you first arrived, and armed with your new found facts repeat the above until you get it right.

Unfortunately the HR departments who read job applications are totally unaware of the nbeed for this sort of individual, so said individuals with these skills are passed over, and numpties are employed who know very little so just change parts until they get it right.

If you bring your boiler to Scarborough I will sort it out for you.
