Hi all

wonder if anyone could help, sorry if this is a stupid question just startded learning to fix boilers,
Got called out to an alpha today boiler kept firing up and going out almost immediatley after firing i checked continuity across overheat stat and what i thought was flue limit stat but both seemed fine so i fired boiler again and realised it wasn't rectifiying i followed the rectification lead to what i thought was the flue limit stat but it turns out to be something to do with the condesate i've never seen one before so i linked it out and boiler fired ok so my question is why was i getting continuity but it obviously werent woking and what is this part and how does it work ( Just for future referance) it was at the top of the boiler in the condensate heat exchanger, and it was like a long white plastic spout which screwed into the body of the condense heat exchanger at first glance it looks like a stat ( sorry if the description is crap)

Many thanks Dan

don't you think this should be in the combustion chamber...this is safety related and although the public understand that this is not the best run and most professional industry in the UK, this type of question should not be here...

another port of call is the helpful people at alpha...I would give them a ring in the morning...

Condensate stat. If it gets full, it stops the boiler from flooding itself. Was it blue plastic on top??? Really common, just change it for new. Quite cheap too.

ye think its the same thing its was white plastic tho but i dont understand if it was full and making the boiler not rectifi why was i still getting continuity across the two prongs?, thanks for the help much appreciated
