previous (builder) owner of house fitted piped UFH in the bathrooms. we cant get the tiles warm even tho it was switched on for 24h. we've been wondering why there isnt a step up from the bedrooms to the bathrooms and have just realised that the ceramic tiles are laid straight on top of the plywood floorboards, which means that the UFH pipes are beneath the floorboards
is this normal? surely UFH is going to struggle to work through ply and tiles? could this explain why it doesnt seem to work?!
i think there is loft insulation under the floorboards with the pipes notched into the joists.
