I'm looking to get my front garden turned into a driveway. I would normally just opt for block-paving but am considering alternatives. The costs need to be close to a block-paved driveway, so what are the current modern laternatives to block-paving for driveways?

you will need permission if you reduce the drainage area
as in if its solid it must be able to drain away to your garden not the public highway or drains

Tarmac it with a solid staffy blue brick border. You could add the odd splash of colour by adding a slabbed pathway also famed in blues.

If you use permeable brick paving you don't need pp. Least that what it says in the Marshalls brochure
