Simple really. Are they any good/better/real world more efficient than a normal compact rad.

Apparently they are supposed to be more efficient.
There was a big fuss/promotion a few years ago, no doubt by the manufacturer, telling us how much better they were.
You have to pay more though, so whether it adds up financially in the end, who know's
