Hi guys, I’ve just fitted a non-dimmable ceiling light and wanted to swap the light switch out.

The current switch has two switches on it, one of which is redundant.

Am I able to fit a standard 1 gang 2 way if so how.

Photos below showing current wiring.

Any help would be great thanks

Yes do the same, the wire which is in COM will go into common on the new switch and the other red wire which is in L1 will go l1 on the new switch.

You will need a terminal block to join the other three wires on the right.

Perfect thank you! The other 3 wires to the terminal block they all connect together in the com?

Just tried and it’s on but not switching. Any thoughts please? Thank you

Sorry tried via the block and it didn’t switch sorry didn’t see the above post.

This is how it is currently and not sure what to do?

No connector block needed!
You should have the two reds marked C in the Com terminal. In your pic you only have one red!
Hope you haven’t mixed them up…

Connect as my picture above, if you've mixed them up you'll have to rotate the 3 wires until it works as it should.

From the original wiring I have connected the two wires from one side of the original switch to the new switches COM and L1. What you see into the terminal block is the other side the original switch.. two COMs going into an L1 on the other side.

Do I simply remove the linking wire and place the two COMs and L1s together on the new switch?

Many thanks

If it's not switching you've probably got the live and switched live in the connector block.
