I am in the middle of installing my kitchen. Looking at how to connect up the waste system for the sink and am having a thick moment.

Pic 1 shows the setup I have
Pic 2 shows a "Flexiwaste Connector - Compression System" with one of the nuts from the end of the U-Bend.

The pipe fits perfectly into the space but cannot see how its attached as you can't get the compression nuts into the pipe.

Am i being ultra thick?

The compression nuts do not need to go beyond the widest flange. In other words, counting from the corrugated section, you will have first the widest flange, then the nut, then a plastic disc?, then the rubber olive, all the last three compressing onto the wider section of pipe at the end. The narrower section may need to be cut off.

But couldn't help noticing that trap outlet is lower than waste pipe through wall. Bearing in mind that water does not flow uphill......

Just because you don't know how to put a waste together doesn't make you thick. You came here for help and thick people dont do that.

It looks as though you have that blue washer the wrong way round. It belongs underneath the nut and facing tapered end down towards the U bend.

The waste pipe you are trying to connect to needs lowering to below the height of the trap outlet. I know it means knocking another hole through but thats the way it must be with the set up you have.

Its possible there is a way round it by using the trap you have there on the right hand outlet. Using another trap for the other side and teeing them together so that the outlet height is above or level [but not below] that of the pipe going through the wall.

Have a look through the bags and see if you can find any instructions. If you have one part in the wrong place theres a good chance there will be another.

Normally when connecting these fittings you put the nut on the pipe first then often theres a plastic ring and finally the rubber ring goes on with taper pointing towards the end of the pipe then push the pipe into the fitting and tighten the nut

Use it if you must but I would be inclined to throw that flexi connector a very long distance indeed as I can see it doing more harm than good in there

It looks to me like you might be able to get away with using the existing hole in the wall, if you use a "Running" trap. The grey part shown pointing downwards would need to be swivelled to near horizontal first. They join pipe to pipe.

Having said that I would pefer to use separate traps for the two outlets, to minimise the amount of smelly pipe between the sinks' wastes and the trap(s).

Good idea ChrisR, but the bend section is threaded to accept a traditional trap and the trap you show is compression, would need an adapter, still easier though than a new hole.
