AMF Venner heating timing switch! Help lol!!!!!!!

Hi all, got a very old system in the house I rent out. I know I need to renew the system but trying to hold until after Christmas. The problem is with the hot water switch on the above panel. I know that I probably wont be able to get spares for this but if I get any type of ON/OFF switch, surely it would be possible to wire it to that instead???

Also on the system is a really old thermostat, is it possible I could just one for one this with any thermostat???
