I lived in a bungalow years ago built between the wars out of secondhand timber from Milton Camp. Eventually it was covered with concrete block walls.

These blocks were 6” thick X 9” X 18” were extremely dense and had what I would describe as a, “Knobbly finish” which I suppose was meant pretend the blocks were hand carved from stone. The garage where I live now was built from the same type of blocks and I would like to extend it but I can’t discover the correct name for that type of block and am asking if anyone can tell me

Is this approx what you want?

You can search for 'Rock faced concrete block'
