    OK this needs to stop.

Anne Boleyn the last time i checked wasn't black. And i have no issue per se this actress playing the part, but, and an important but, don't start calling people racist when they point out the difference in appearance when attempting to recreate the story (ie skin colour).

    https://metro.co.uk/2021/05/21/jodi...came-racist-backlash-to-anne-boleyn-14623078/

Thats unless its now ok for a white man to play Nelson Mandela or other iconic Black iconic figures, imagine the outrage, and imagine not once would those people be called racist for pointing it out.

Sorry i am all for a fair playing field i don't condone racism in any form BUT i also i don't condone the use of the term 'racist' to manipulate or silence voices of objection when it's perfectly fair to do so.

It's an interesting subject. Cleopatra is often now proclaimed as having been black, which is possible, if there were illegitimacy in the Ptolemy family. Historians are divided although the majority seem to lean toward her not being black.
Another case of the 'woke brigade' attempting to re-write history?

My partner, absolutely not a racist, mentioned that this afternoon. Yes she was white, so were her parents and her grandparents too.

It (AB) was also mentioned in a Newsgroup, where it was pointed out that white actors do often play black people and it seems to be just accepted.

Me - it just seems very odd to my mind.

Agree, ive heard in the past black actors comment on a certain actor not being black enough!

As i said i don't want to make out any us n them here, we are all one race, but please don't use the race card to gain advantage or quash valid and balanced opinion.

In 'It aint half hot mum' a well known white British actor played the part of the 'Punkawallah', which has since been criticised as a white person should never pay the part of a coloured person. The actor pointed out that in those days there were few, if any, Indian actors in the UK.

Rarely watch tv these days as it's mostly garbage, but the adverts are getting ridiculous. Anyone who didn't know would think The UK was almost exclusively ethnic. Maybe the advertisers are forced to do this to comply with the brain washing and social engineering that's going on. It's all about the diversiddity, innit!

I haven't but I know the story (obvs) and know he's often played by a white actor. It's not a problem for me, no more so than the 'punkawallah' in It aint half hot mum, is it a problem for you?

Perhaps he believed that, but there is no reason to suppose his belief was true.

Were there no young black men in Britain who were capable of playing football?

Interesting point John, how many actors were there? or are you suggesting the actors could have been replaced by footballers?, FFS.
