Phone sat nav’s dont rely on a mobile signal to locate their position (they use GPS) and you can get your lat/long (or better still, use 'what three words' to locate you anywhere on the planet within a 3 metre square). Most late iPhones can also connect to the emergency services by satellite if there is no mobile or WiFi signal as long as you can see the sky. Could come in handy for off-piste skiers too.

Travelling in USA with friends up near Canada border, stopped at a remote village. Landline was installed in case of emergency. No mobile signal, no sat nav signal, no wifi (obviously), very very poor internet.
