Hi, I am planning on building a ground level decking supported by concrete patio slabs. I have read a lot of information about laying the slabs and a lot of places just advise to lay the slabs on the weed membrane?!?

This seems a bit rubbish to me. Surely the slabs need to be bedded in concrete with a firm sub base or is this not the case? Is only able to tell me how I should bed or lay the slabs before sitting the decking on top?

Thanks

I always concrete in posts. This gives a good firm footing and allows for accurate frame adjustment and setting levels just right.

If you want to just sit it on something then digging a small section of topsoil out then pouring a small pad of concrete/ or setting a flag on a generous bed of mortar would be good.
