I'm half way through a total rewire to my home, which is involving many improvements at the same time. Well, I bought some cable on Friday from a wholesaler, only to realise too late when I got home that the stuff was in the new colours! The wholesaler is closed 'till Monday and I wanted to crack on before then.

Am I right in saying that it is acceptable to use the two different colour schemes, as long as I put a warning notice on the CU to say that both colour schemes are in use?

technically you are allowed to extend an existing install in new colors but not mix them on the same job

ofc there is no way to tell the difference afterwards so this is kinda stupid

its your own house so just go ahead and do it it isn't dangerous or anything

Thanks Plugwash, just needed the reassurance. Boy did the air turn blue when I stripped back the first bit of cable this evening!

I've had to sit here and COPPER load of all your bad puns.

I'm going to reVOLT.
