Do all UK slaughter houses torture then slit throats? Or do they make sure the stunning kills? The UK slaughter business is not for the faint hearted. Best you stay veggie.

Yes. The whole slaughter business is painful and cruel. Some of our regular UK slaughterhouses admit that not all animals are successfully stunned before their throats are cut. All animals are bled (slit cartoid, jugular) as part of the slaughter process.Do all UK slaughter houses torture then slit throats?
Not every animal, no.Or do they make sure the stunning kills?

As Brig succinctly put it....."Anyone who thinks it is only the final deed where the animal suffers is sadly mistaken..."Sounds like torture to me.
Obviously, but as quick as possible is best but we obviously dont agree on that point. As Brig succinctly put it....."Anyone who thinks it is only the final deed where the animal suffers is sadly mistaken..."

But the last throat slit is unnecessarily cruel, agree?Yes.
It doesn't make UK slaughterhouses any less cruel to the animals though.

The knife is used to provide a swift end to the ritual, allowing blood to drain quickly, preventing the meat from spoiling.
