Another replace old Crabtree four gang light switch with modern MK one question. Help!

Just copy the wiring positions as in your old switches.

So, as long as I keep the top wires and bottom wires consistent, across each switch (e.g. red on top and white on bottom for the top switch in my original post it will switch OK? Thanks, David

You have four rectangles: the same as your old switches; just copy the wiring.

Don't mix them up.

Or is it just really old colour wiring and no earth?

That's exactly what it is - colours as used before 1966 which also explains the no earth.
It's at least 60 years old.

You can build your assembly with MK GRID and it will look just like the 4 way MK switch you first posted
With a little care you can even replace the back piece of the switch you have purchased with an intermediate module, though dont attempt if not confident
