Another 'Rochdale' Issue

In fact I was once accused of being a racist as a manager once when I created a rota that someone didn't like.

The irony is of course that if I had taken their stroppy nature into account and made future rotas more acceptable to them then I would in fact have been discriminating against others.
This would have been 'positive' discrimination which would have been equally as unfair to others .
However noone has ever been disciplined or criticised for applying positive discrimination. The ethnic community are hardly likely to complain if they are let off a parking ticket when they should really have received one and this goes a long way to explaining why these anomolies exists.

The truth is an accusation of racism to a professional is a career killer and everyone avoids accusations of such by erring on the side of capitulation and empowerment.
