A few years ago I had some work done in the kitchen, it included replacing an RSJ that was found to be a bodge by the previous owner.
Slowly since then I have had damp coming through the ceiling. It is definitely not seeping down from the bathroom above as ive had it stripped out to check.
The loft is also dry.
The RSJ is supporting the gable end as the kitchen had been extended into it, again by previous owner.
The conclusion I have reached over a long period of time watching the damp slowly creep along the ceiling.is that it is. Either.
Rain creeping in where the flat roof joins the gable end or condensation collecting on the RSJ and dripping down
Question is any guesses as to which one..
Its now time to sort it once and for all.
Hopefully some picture should be attached
