Hi. Just looking for some advice really. We recently purchased a 1930s semi and we’ve noticed this plate on the rear of the house on the old chimney brickwork. Any ideas what it is? It looks pretty old (possibly original?) and no other house on the row has it? Is it some kind of anchor plate? We’re just worried in case it’s some kind of structural support. This is the first time we’ve noticed it; we did have a full structural survey done which didn’t mention any current
movement/subsidence.

Exactly. Just a chimney cleaning hatch.
