Anybody else watch COPS on TV?

I find myself strangely addicted to it... hardly watch TV beside this and certainly not junk.

I love the way the cops are so well spoken and say Sir to everybody - until somebody misbehaves/runs and then they go straight to that page of the manual that advises "don't discuss a failure to comply for more than a few seconds - drop him/her or Tasar him/her but keep calling them sir/madam".

"Why did you run Sir?" Knee on man's face as he puts cuffs on whilst obviously quite distressed at the suspects actions. "We were getting on so nicely - I was calling you Sir and everything and there you go disrespecting me..."

Armchair critics, don't you just love 'em?

It can be a thankless task and it is a tough job, think you could handle it?

No, I don't think I could, but how long does it take to graduate from the insitute of patronisation? Why do they always come across as moronic drones?

But then I do fully agree with you, not an easy or pleasant job. I really don't think these type of programmes do the police much justice. My experience of them, rarely you'll be pleased to know has been completely different. (except traffic cops)

Your avin a larf aint ya?

Come to Doncaster on a saturday night. Theres a police officer every 10 metres along both sides of silver street. What do they do? Stand there waiting for trouble to erupt, all the while being bombarded by drunk scantily clad women asking for their number and throwing themselves at them, and the latest dance tunes from the nearest nightclub. Very unpleasant . . .

well personally i wouldn't find that all that pleasant, but police do have to do some unpleasant jobs. In the main I admire them, but sadly only in the main. have to say I'm not sure i totally trust 'em.

Maybe I came across different than intended. I really do respect and admire those cops for a) being polite and professional in the main and b) being firm when required. I was not being a critic but the opposite.

Bad boys
Whatcha want, watcha want
Whatcha gonna do
When sheriff John Brown come for you
Tell me

Bad boys, bad boys
Whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do
When they come for you
Bad boys, bad boys
Whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do

When you were eight
And you had bad traits
You go to school
And learn the golden rule
So why are you
Acting like a bloody fool
If you get hot

You chuck it on this one
You chuck it on your mother and
You chuck it on your father
You chuck it on your brother and
You chuck it on your sister
You chuck it on that one and
You chuck it on me
(CHORUS x2)
Nobody naw give you no break
Police naw give you no break
Not a soldier mona give you no break
Not even you idren naw give you no break

Don't you know you're human being
Born of a mother with the love of a father
Reflections come and reflections go
I know sometimes you want to let go
Hey hey hey
I know sometimes you want to let go
Bad boys, bad boys
A whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do
When they come for you
(You're too bad, you're too rude)
(You're too bad, you're too rude)
Bad boys, bad boys
A whatcha gonna do, whatcha gonna do
When they come for you
You chuck it on that one
You chuck it on this one
You chuck it on your mother and
You chuck it on your father
You chuck it on your brother and
You chuck it on your sister
You chuck it on that one and
You chuck it on me
