Anyone here know much about mixers?

If it were my mixer I would take one of my discarded dimming switches and give it a go. May not work but worth a try.

Seems to remember watch a episode of Last of the Summer Wine where Sid tries to mend the mixer. May be you can make a U Tube video?

What I would think has happened is one of the armature windings has gone short circuit and although motor is running likely taking too much power. Not seen a growler in years. I have rewound 12 and 24 volt stuff by hand but 230 volt far too many windings.

Thursday 13 November Lidi had a Kenwood look alike for sale at £79.99 the old Kenwood second hand seem to cost around £60 and a motor around £10 so it's worth giving it a go for repair. What would be handy is to know what power they use. Miss placed my power meter or I would test ours.

If I recall correctly the earliest Kenwood speed control was mechanical and uses a centrifugal switch mounted on the motor axle. The switch opens when the motor reaches the correct speed. The control knob moves one of the switch contacts to change the speed at which the switch opens.

Minimum and maximum speed are set by mechanical end stops / adjustments on the movement of the switch contact.

Hi, loads of parts on ebay, seems to be a popular model.

Kind regards,

DS
