Hiya, I've just accidentally purchased a drum of 4mm stranded - bah! Anyone know where I can get solid wire 4mm from, please? Really struggling to find it anywhere and, as a DIYer, I'm not in the know about which online suppliers are reputable so I'd be super grateful for a recommendation? Thank you!!

I may be wrong, but I didn't think that solid core 4mm² T+E existed?

Kind Regards, John

I've never heard of edit: SOLID CORE 4mm² as T&E and not seen it listed as singles for at least 25 years and even then no one wanted it.

I don't think solid 4mm² exists in UK T&E or other UK cable types for that matter.
The germans seem to use solid cores in larger sizes, NYY-J seems to be solid core up to 16mm²

You presumably mean solid-core 4mm² T+E?
Thanks, corrected
I, for one, use (stranded) 4mm² T+E all the time (and I personally find it nicer to work with than 2.5mm² T+E).

Kind Regards, John
Yes I agree stranded is nicer to handle.
Years ago, working in nightclub installations we went to a cable company and asked for 2.5mm² Twin stranded for loudspeaker use, they made 10Km for us and as we accepted any colours, we got 2 strange combinations (which I think was possibly 7/0.029") on 1Km drums, it wasn't expensive (actually just cheaper than buying 100m drums of 2.5mm² from Wholesaler and loads cheaper than twin flex). Without an earth they were able to use the same tooling as 2.5mm² T&E solid.
