Anyone noticed the Unicef ad on TV

Just need a bushy tail and it will have us all going.

How those kids eyes are made oversize, to make them more appealing.
I don't subscribe to giving to this charity and that charity. As far as I'm concerned, it should be for world leaders to sort all that stuff out. Neither do I know the ad to which you refer.

However one thing I do know is, if there's one group of people who are innocent amongst all the worlds sh1t, it's children.

If they didn't have so many children in these barren places they wouldn't be so poor.
You know they have many children because the chances of dying young are much higher than in developed countries.
Maybe you should've deleted that post instead of editing it.

If they didn't have so many children in these barren places they wouldn't be so poor.
If they didn't have so many children in these barren places there wouldn't be any population left to be poor, such is the mortality rate

So it's a vicious circle. What is the solution?
I'm not sure there is an easy one; better access to healthcare and education, and having fewer children that more resources are put into keeping healthy is how the "first world" does it, but it's really hard to get such a model going in countries that lack the raw materials to create and sustain it. The majority of the world's population live on less than $2 a day, but if everyone lived like a typical American we'd need something like 3 planet earths to resource it.
The model these counties have developed, using the resources they have, is to have many children in the hopes that a few survive long enough to look after the beings that created them

So it's a vicious circle. What is the solution?
There is no solution. We have enough 'stuff' on the planet to ensure no one should go hungry, be without healthcare etc. However the desire for profit, with a good dose of greed and corruption, will ensure said stuff is never fairly distributed.

My understanding is many of the countries with these issues have 'leaders' that top slice government budgets and sometimes even charity money to fund their own multi-millionaire lifestyles. That's how concerned they are for THEIR OWN people.

And these charities want us to send our hard-earned to these places?!? Nah.

We had the solution a couple of hundred years ago: The British Empire.

Countries that cannot look after themselves should come under the protection of richer countries in a reciprocal arrangement whereby the rich country provides security, education, employment, housing, infrastructure and opportunity in return for the natives' labour and all the various trade commodities that the richer country needs.
