i am considering having the wall between bathroom and study on first floor rebuilt - its messy because previous owner had chimney stack removed. all will be done with bc and se report.
however any ideas on cost from average builder. its about 3m x 3m. i am thinking of it being replaced with blocks rather than bricks. supports small showerroom above.
any ideas on cost
what are best blocks to use (insulation heat and sound )
cheapest option

thanks for any help, r

Why not clean it up with a bolster and plaster it?

the brickwork is a bit knackered due to chimney having been removed
i fancy better sound and heat proofing
it will be lighter in weight on supporting rsj's

probably a bit fussy of me i agree..
thanks anyway but does anyone have a very rough idea cost of a 3m x 3m block wall plastered?
thanks

It may support joists being an outside wall. Just insulate it, plasterboard it and plaster it. Why on earth are you hell-bent on removing it?

its an internal wall perpendicular to outside wall. half brick thick. chimney went from central kitchen to roof. any suggestions? thanks for any help.r
