Is the hose from the air pressure switch to the flue made of rubber? I had one which appeared very brittle and looked like ceramic.

yes its made of rubber. it only appears to be ceramic because years of dry heat inside the boiler cause it to go hard and brittle. you can still buy that specific tube but any air pressure tube will do, just make sure its the same length and diameter. worcester supply their air pressure tubes in 5m lengths so there'll be plenty spare

Thank you very much, i,m newly qualified and never heard of the boiler let alone seen it  Just glad i was able to find the fault. thanx again m8, alex.

Buy 5 metres of rubber tubing (the stuff that sits on the end of your U Guage).

Cut it to size and use that.

In fact, 3 years ago (on christmas day) I actually used my U Guage tube to get a customer heat for 2 days until I could make a permanent fix.

Cheers dave, being new and not able to get hold of anyone who would know. I didnt want to take the risk of putting anything on that would possibly cause problems.

Just buy the clear silicone tubing from your local parts supplier. I think it is sold in 2 M lengths buy Regin.
